About

Cultivated for three generations, the Chabot family's land was previously intended for dairy production. It was in 1970 that Michel Chabot began the production of ornamental plants and created the Pépinière Soleil. First grown in the field then in containers, the range of plants offered has multiplied and transformed over the years.

Having joined the company in 2008 and 2012 respectively, Sophie Chabot and Frédéric Ouellet are now continuing the development of the company. They strive to offer a diverse choice of plants as well as several new products to meet the constantly evolving expectations of horticultural professionals.

With this objective in mind, the owners have developed a few products that set them apart: Smaragd cedars grown in the field for better adaptation to Quebec winter conditions. Stem hydrangeas, produced 100% on site from cutting to shipping. And finally, in order to reduce the environmental footprint, organic fruit bushes which have been offered since 2019.

Concerned about the environment, the owners of Pépinière Soleil are constantly modifying their production practices. The optimal recovery and reuse of resources are the backdrop when developing production methods. Living soils, increased biodiversity and the use of low-impact plant protection products influence every production decision.

Plants from Pépinière Soleil are intended for garden centers, landscapers, cities and other production nurseries in Quebec, Eastern Ontario and the Maritimes.
